back to DasMagic menuWrapUp from 06-25-2006
My recollection of this game is a bit hazy (that is what I get for waiting 6 weeks to write the review), so, no sniping about the details please!
In the standings, this game was meaningless. DasMagic had lost the previous week because of injuries and missing players to Celtic. That loss decided the final table order regardless of the outcome this week against our eternal nemisis: Lincoln Park.
It is alway a guessing game for who is going to show when we play Lincoln Park away, this week was no different. In the end, we had a respectable showing with fourteen magicians making the northerly trip.
Right from the start it was an unusual game. We dominated the play and with several goal-scoring chances from the run of play. From our the opposition, there was slow play and sloppy passes; not what we have seen in the past. With Chad's first game back from Germany 2006 and Vigis' natural hate of Lincoln Park and losing, there was some definite 'pep in our step'.
Viginijus score three goals (the first was a great dead-ball from 20 out in the upper right corner) and earned the golden boot. Everyone played well and, in spite of not winning this damn league again, it was a good way to wrap the spring 2006 session. We will be back with a vengence trying to take what we should have won the last three sessions.
