Coming into sunday's game, Das Magic's prospects were not too promising. We were heading into a game against the team that won the league the last two seasons. Several DasMagic players were either injured or on vacation and out of the city. On top of that, the game was starting at 9:00 (not a good sign for dasMagic players).
My scouts tell me that the first half was touch and go with some uneven soccer being played on both sides of the ball (i was waiting for my lost golf clubs from pittsburgh to show at the airport). The stongest play came from our second-string, starting goal keeper, 'The G.M.' He made several key saves to keep the score tied at nil-nil.
From the start of the second half, DasMagic was applying strong offensive pressure, controlling the midfield and 'stepping on' any offensive attempts from the opposition. The first goal was excellent in its simplicity. Eric punted the ball to midfield, it was quickly knocked to chris r. on the outside. He two touched to chad breaking down the left wing; chad crossed it to timmy neighbors who stepped in front of the goalie and poked it into the back of the net.
From that point, the flood gates opened and the goals piled in. The final tally was 4-0; with additional goals by chris roe, chad and bernado.
It was an excellent victory and puts us in control of the league standings.
