Das Game Summary

('the weekly tally')

WrapUp from 10-22-2006

It was unseasonably cold for the last game of the fall season. Regardless, Das Magic came out to put an exclamation point on our undefeated run this session.

The Gingers, like Celtic F.C. the week before, were only able to corral ten players for the match. Disappointed as we were that the opposition was not at full strength, that didn't keep us from relentlessly attacking. The first goal was simple, clean and sweet. From just the defensive side of the half, Jimmy chipped through a hole in the defense onto a running Virgis. He received the ball to his left and neatly tucked the ball to the goalie's left. Timmy N. added two sweet goals. The second was a picture shot for sure. He dribbled to the right corner of the penalty box, stopped and turned. He then knocked at left-footed bender into the far upper 90.

Although the opposition worked hard and put up a decent challange for the first half, they had nothing left in the second half and were praying for the end of their season. They could do nothing to prevent the 5-0 final.

Once again, Cheers to all you Magicians that contributed to an undefeated session. As you may have noticed, many other teams are facing personnel challenges that we had three or four years ago. As a result, the future composition of the league is a mystery. So, if the league does fold, it is appropriate and poetic that we would be the permanent holders of 'The Cup'.

In the immortal words of the G.M. (and whoever he stole the quote from) 'Each one of you are CHAMPIONS!'
