Das Game Summary

('the weekly tally')

WrapUp from 07-01-2007

Whew! That was about the ugliest twenty minutes of soccer I have seen Das Magic play for quite a while (Erich G.M. disagrees). The start of this game was just plain U-G-L-Y! Not only couldn't we pass to each other's feet, we could not even clear the ball properly. In spite of our general ineptitdue, the score remained 0-0 about half-way through the first fourty-five minutes. This was an improvement from the last two games when we allowed two or three goals before we started to play with any cohesiveness.

Finally, in the second half of the first half, Das Magic began to pull it together and get some flow in their game. A defender pushed forward after the ball switched fields twice in about thirty seconds through the center midfield. A quick shot gave the visiting team a 1-0 lead. That goal opened the gates and the goals started to drip in. There was a quick dipsy-do down the endline by Chris B. who was fed a defense breaking pass from Timmy N. Later Timmy N. was on the other end of the assist-goal combination by scoring on a full volly sent into the box on a dead ball by 'The Deliverer'. Erich 'G.M' added another to his season total with a quick knock in from about ten yards out. All total, 'the good guys put six goals on the score sheet.

The second place team, FK Podrinje pretty much gave up after going down by three. They spread out two goals over the match leaving the final tally to be 6-2 in Das' favor.

Going into the second half of the 2007 season, as a new member in the National Soccer League, the outlook is positive. With this relatively easy win, in spite of our lackluster play against the second place team in our division, we are at least three wins (nine points) ahead of Podrinje. We also have a 'game in hand' against the last place team, Pitbulls SC. We are going to hand them their asses in the rematch of our tie game.

Let's keep up the play into the second half!
