Das Game Summary

('the weekly tally')

WrapUp from 05-16-2010

Another Das Magic game, another start with just enough players to begin. This amazes me considering we have more than twenty players registered. I am waiting for one game soon when we have everyone show!

Anyway, the game was ws a good back and forth match. The opposition, Gremio FC (Argentine), seemed a bit overmatched in the early minutes, but, they soon began to gel and give Das a game.

Das broke the scoring stalement with a chip from Henry on the left side. The ball skipped through the goal mouth to a waiting Nick Roe who buried a screaming, left-footed shot off a short hop. The keeper had no chance at even getting a hand on the ball.

The match ebbed and flowed with Das getting the better of the play. Das worked the ball on several give and goes and excellent scoring chance that were turned away by the opposing goalie with some stellar play. Henry tripped in the box and drew a penalty kick call which Chris Roe proceeded to miss in spectacular fashion.

Ben scored another great goal to give us a 2-0 lead. A great individual effort by the opposing forward tightened the score to 2-1 with only about ten minutes remaining in the match; making for a nail-biting ending. Reed saved a great shot as time expired to preserve the victory for Das Magic and give them an undefeated 3 and 'O' record.

Up next is the second place team for a run at the top.
