It was a beautiful morning at Das Magic Stadium, and Das was looking to break our longest losing streak since being in the National Soccer League, or in recent memory (3 games). The 'more exciting than it should have been' 4-3 victory felt good and put us back in the win column
Once again, we were thin on numbers, but, had a full squad. The game started rough when we allowed a header off a corner (should have been cleared) and a defensive breakdown letting in an easy goal to put us two goals down in the first fifteen minutes of the match. Our response was to tighten the unfamiliar defense and start to move the soccer ball. We nicely worked both sides of the field with Ben and Paul on top and Chad, Irish, Alex B and Jerry B running the midfield. There were ample opportunities and Alejandro Blinder converter two from the middle of the penalty box; taking us to half time with a 2-2 tie and the momentum
We started the second half the same way we finish, with attacking soccer. Of the seven or eight golden opportunities, we scored none and the match remained tied past the halfway mark in the second half. A great chip over the keeper by Paul H. took a super bounce and cleared the crossbar. Finally, with about ten minutes remaining, Alex completed the hattrick from the penalty line. The victory seemed secured until a toe-ball from Brusufa at the top of the box looked to settle the score at three all; a disappointing result considering the talent on the other squad and our comeback.
With less than two minutes remaining, Paulie took a through-ball on the right side and beat the goalie on the far post. A great finish to have us finish on top.
Let's keep this rolling!
